Sharpshooters – Rory Alymer

Rory Alymer – 60 goals

Rory AlymerJust the seventh player to score 50 or more goals for Ballingarry when he scored a brace during the clubs 4-1 Premier division win against Athea United at The Paddocks on December 1st 2013. He joins Eoin Kennedy, Francis Kiely and Darragh O’Grady as the only other Ballingarry 50 goal players that have progressed through the underage structure starting at under 10 at the club before debuting at junior level.

Alymer is an out and out striker with almost all his 160 games plus played in this position thus his strike rate of one goal in just over every three games an impressive return. On three different seasons he has finished as the clubs top goalscorer with his 10 strikes during both seasons 2009-10 and 2010-11 being his best returns. No doubt his exploits in front of goal during 2009-10 had a major influence on him being awarded the clubs Player of the Year for that season.

His first goal for the club was during his debut season 2002-03 in the Division 1 league cup 3-0 win at Glantine Rovers while he is just one of thirteen players to have scored a hat-trick for Ballingarry. However this was not just any hat-trick as it was also the fastest hat-trick scored by any Ballingarry player done so in just 14 minutes after he was introduced as a substitute against Askeaton in the Premier division cup in April 2012.

He has scored in every competition he has represented Ballingarry AFC in, while 32 of his goals are league strikes.
