Eoin Kennedy – 62 goals
When Eoin Kennedy scored the first of his brace against Glin Rovers during a 4-2 away victory in a Premier Division game on May 23rd 2010 not only did he take his place among the greatest goalscorers in the clubs history, but he did so as the first non out-and-out striker to do so. He also arrived at this notable place in the club history as the first player to do so wearing the famous Green and Gold jersey for Ballingarry AFC at every level for the club meaning he was a product of the clubs underage policy having played at every age group available to him form under 10 upwards. His record makes more than respectable reading having reached this particular career milestone at the end of 123 competitive games for the club a scoring average of just under one goal every two games.
For a player that would have played the vast majority of his games for the club at midfield this represents a truly fine return from the games played. He is also one of a very few select players to have scored a hat-trick for his club, however this particular achievement will no doubt have fond memories as it was secured against Rathkeale during a 4-3 win at Holycross during the season that Ballingarry won their first Premier title during a playoff against the same opponents, the importance of these goals now become obvious. This season was also his best in a Ballingarry jersey finding the net 12 times, 10 in the league.
His first goal for the club came during his second season against Knockaderry during a Division 1 league cup group game (27th August 1999) and since then he has scored in every competition the former Nottingham Forest trialist has appeared in for Ballingarry. He would no doubt have arrived at the fifty mark had his career not been interrupted by two trips to Australia between 2004 and 2006.
